Meet. Dr. Alex Meyer
Dr. Meyer is a native of Muscatine Iowa. She has two uncles in the dentistry profession, one of which is our very own Dr. Thaddeus Chamberlain, who sparked her interest in dentistry at a young age. After realizing how many years of schooling were required to become a dentist, she decided to get a head start and received an associate of science degree one week before graduating from Muscatine High School as Valedictorian. She then attended the University of Iowa and received her bachelor’s degree in human physiology, graduating with highest distinction in 2016. After undergrad, she chose to pursue her interest in dentistry and received a four-year merit scholarship to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. During dental school she received multiple academic achievement awards, including the J.D. Thomson memorial award and Alton K. Fisher Award for being the top performing dental student in both Physiology and Oral Pathology. She also received the Michael W. Finkelstein evidence-based dentistry competition award. Although she loved many aspects of dentistry, she was drawn to the intricacies of endodontics, as well as the satisfaction of being able to alleviate the pain of her patients. After graduating from dental school in 2020, Dr. Meyer decided that she wasn’t done being a Hawkeye and received her Certificate In Endodontics from the University of Iowa in 2022.
Alex married her middle school sweetheart, David, in 2019. For now, their only child is a spoiled 100 lb doberman named Duke. David is also a graduate of the University of Iowa, so they are both die-hard Hawkeye fans and love tailgating and attending Hawkeye football games. Alex enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friendsAlex is excited to serve the Cedar Falls/Waterloo communities.
